HAQM Appstore Listing and Promotion Policy

Listing your app at HAQM exposes it to tens of millions of HAQM customers who can spread the word about your brands and products. HAQM’s automated and targeted marketing provides a unique and personalized experience for every HAQM customer. Algorithms use historical customer behavior to recommend products to each customer. Optimizing the marketing content that you provide to HAQM with your app submission will maximize your exposure.

App Submission and Metadata Requirements

Your app metadata must be accurate, relevant, and unique from other apps you have previously submitted. Your app metadata must not include any Appstore Content Policy violations, app or in-app purchase (IAP) pricing, or HAQM Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs). Avoid using ALL CAPS, emojis, or repetitive words in your app metadata. Your app description must be in English unless your apps targets only Germany or Japan.

Metadata includes but is not limited to the following information and assets for your app:

  • App Title
  • Developer Name
  • Display Title (shown in the HAQM Appstore)
  • Display Category (shown in the HAQM Appstore)
  • Short Description
  • Long Description
  • Product feature bullets
  • Keywords
  • Images, including your app icon, screenshots, and any promotional images. See Images and videos.

Examples of violations

  • An app icon that features an image of a celebrity without proper permission.
  • An app with smiling face emojis at the beginning and end of the title.
  • An app listing with screenshots that are of another app with different functionality.
  • An app that is submitted with keywords that include profanity.
  • An app that lists the prices of IAP items or ASINs in its metadata, or has an unreasonably high list price.

Granting HAQM Access for App Review

We leverage a combination of automated means and expert human review to review apps before publishing to the HAQM Appstore. If HAQM is not able to test your in-app content, HAQM will not publish your app. Additionally, providing the appropriate login credentials to your app will enable HAQM to provide more directed feedback with regards to any app testing failures. For apps that require users to login before use, provide HAQM with a set of test login credentials in the Testing Instructions field during app submission. See Step 4: Review and Submit of the app submission workflow. Your app will not be published if it fails to launch properly, crashes frequently, or contains other obvious defects.

Ratings, Reviews, and Installs

You may not offer bonus incentives (for example, HAQM Coins or other in-game currencies) in return for ratings and reviews. Additionally, you are not permitted to offer compensation for users to click, download, or install your app as a way to boost the numbers for your app's user base. You may not manipulate customer reviews, chart rankings, customer ratings, or otherwise impact discoverability using fraudulent methods.
